S1000D Technical Writer

Key Role:

Determines overall support for the development of logistical management systems. Obtain and research the data required to perform analysis. Direct and coordinate the development of materials for tracking and status reports. Anticipate operational area and environmental and human factor logistics problems. Determine overall support requirements, including facilities, safety, and maintenance. Conduct engineering analysis on equipment design to determine the impact of inherent reliability and matainability on system life cycle supportability. Design and conduct research or technical studies to support logistics functions, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with the development of logistical management systems

-Knowledge of logistics acquisition, supply chain management, and sustainment products

-Knowledge of maintenance and sustainment requirements

-Active Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as a technical writer, including S1000D and PDF document generation and content development

-Experience with creating technical documents, including IETMs, training manuals, job aids, and technical instructions as a technical writer

-Experience with providing input on technical manuals and related documents, including detailed visual aids using S1000D, Arbortext Editor, Contenta, Microsoft Word, Adobe, and CorelDRAW or Photo-Paint
