About The Opportunity
To lead the development of the supplier quality program to serve the needs of the supply chain and procurement processes.
Develop supplier quality program that will comply with ISO regulations and meet the standards and needs of GKN Aerospace services individual business units
Maintain, in partnership with the Sourcing Manager, the approved supplier list.
Able to interpret drawings, military specifications and have knowledge of GD&T Principles.
Develop buyer training programs for quality problem resolution.
Manage the CAST program (consultation-action-selection-termination).
Manage SCAR (supplier corrective action request) when called upon to do so.
Report to upper management monthly status of supplier quality.
Report GKN supplier quality cost on a monthly basis.
Conduct supplier assessments and manage the supplier assessment data base.
Work with the lean manufacturing team to implement best practices.
Ensure compliance with the approved US Government sourcing and procurement procedures (i.e. FAR and DFAR).
Manage and report on the SPI program (supplier performance indicators).
Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement and supplier quality web site
Develop and implement effective communication processes with the supplier community.
Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building.
Prepare and present to GKN customers the Supplier Quality Program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or related discipline is preferred and/or a combination of 7 years of education and relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Seven+ years of experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment including implementation of supplier and internal quality systems.
Three+ years prior experience as a Quality Engineer or Supplier Quality Engineer in an ISO 9000 and/or AS91000 manufacturing environment.
Qualified in SPC, SMEA, DSM, GFA and lean manufacturing.(preferred)
U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to: criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.” This clearance must be maintained during employment. Preferred applicants who hold active DoD Secret Security clearance.
Proficient in MS Office suite.
Must possess excellent communications skills including strong executive-level presentation skills.Physical Demands
Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment.
May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
Must occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials
May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
